Brainforest (BF)

Work with Brainforest (BF), a Swiss NGO to position the organisation. BF identifies barriers preventing capital flowing to forests, develop ventures to overcome these barriers and launch them onto the market, with the aim to increase the global forest area and its climate stabilizing function. https://brainforest.global/

 


NEMO (New Evidence and Methods in fighting Multinational Organized Crime)

AJF coordinates the work of the NEMO Consortium. The aim of NEMO is to disrupt the illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing along the fisheries supply chain by using crime mapping, data mining, and earth observation.

 

The consortium members include: Airbus Defence and Space, Fraunhofer-Institut für Optronik, Deutor Cyber Security Solutions, Bureau van Djik, Nuix.

 


Environmental Crime Conference at (GPEC)

AJF organized the Transnational Environmental Crime Conference at the General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference (GPEC) in Frankfurt. (www.gpec.de)

The aim of the conference is to emphasis that environmental crime, with an accent on wildlife and fishery crime, is today transnational organized crime.

 


Anonymous Funder

AJF developed the strategy of an ambitious conservation model based on the inclusion of communities as partners, with shared incentives for successful conservation in Tanzania.

 


Rewilding Europe

Rewilding Europe (www.rewildingeurope.com) is working in eight large rewilding areas across Europe to help make Europe a wilder place.

AJF carries out an assessment of the funding environment in Switzerland. This includes interviews with key individuals from foundations, banks, and social investment experts on how to leverage funding opportunities. This assignment is done on a pro bono basis.

 


Oak Foundation

Oak Foundation is family-led and reflects the vision and values of its founders. Oak is a strategic funder supporting Human Rights, Gender, Environment, Children´s Rights and Education.

AJF developed the five-year strategy for Oak’s Wildlife Trade Program (WTP) – building public-private partnerships, linking Southern and Eastern Africa to China and Southeast Asia to disrupt the illegal trade in wildlife.

As part of the mandate the Oak convening in 2016 was organized, bringing key players in the illegal wildlife trafficking and conservation sector together to build a donor group.

 


Wildlife Justice Commission (WJC)

Wildlife Justice Commission (WJC) – an organization made up of law enforcement and legal experts who are committed to fight transnational organized wildlife crime. (www.wildlifejustice.org)

In this role key external relationships were strengthened and new donor audiences were developed. Also new partnerships with major stakeholders were initiated.

 


Minara Nature Foundation

Minara is a family foundation with an interest in wildlife conservation in East Africa. (www.minara.foundation)

AJF assisted the set up and the positioning of Minara Nature Foundation (MNF). The portfolio and the grant-making process was implemented. Engagement with major decision makers in the wildlife sector was part of the strategic positioning.
